Janet is lead consultant and founder. As a practitioner she has worked with a wide range of clients from Novartis to Boots, Bayer to AkzoNobel, DSM to IATA. She speaks fluent Italian and Spanish.
Janet has enjoyed a career in Omnicom agencies, most recently as Director of Strategy & Planning for global marketing within the FleishmanHillard EMEA network. Here she worked in Brussels with global trade associations, NGOs and B2B corporations planning multi-national campaigns that would 'travel' across languages and borders. Her work spanned public affairs, business and consumer audiences. She is experienced in leading pitches and developing client marketing strategy on new business wins.
Her career started in magazine publishing, firstly consumer magazines and then brand customer publishing. Her roots in journalism, editorial and creative have played an important role in developing strong marketing communications.
Janet's mother tongue is English and she is fluent in Spanish as she has an extended Spanish family. She studied History of Art and Italian at Sussex and Padova universities and went on to work in Bologna and Rome. Here she worked both in the arts and as a language teacher after qualifying with TEFL from International House in Piccadilly, London.
She lives in the beautiful Georgian city of Bath with her environmental campaigning husband, dog and occasionally her two sons when they pass through needing food or money.
Consultant - business English & cross-cultural communications
Lorenza is a business English consultant and cross-cultural communications expert. She has enjoyed a varied broadcast career, living and working across Europe in Italy, France, the Netherlands and Belgium. She is a trained TEFL teacher, is mother-tongue English and speaks fluent Italian and French.
Lorenza has specialized as a broadcast journalist. At Radio Netherlands, the Dutch International Service, she worked in international news and current affairs as a presenter and producer. Her work allowed her to travel making radio documentaries on a variety of issues from the Balkans conflicts to blood diamonds.
She has worked for a number of NGOs including Search for Common Ground, Médecins sans frontiers (MSF) and Human Rights Watch. In London, Lorenza co-authored books as varied as World Vision (response to the Ebola crisis) to a guide book to Belfast. Her language work includes translation and simultaneous interpreting. Most recently, she has enjoyed a fascinating role as a cross-cultural online dialogue facilitator for a transnational exchange project funded by the EU Commission. Lorenza also trains tutors and other practitioners in Virtual Exchange, using technology to help people collaborate on projects regardless of physical location.
Lorenza studied French and Italian at Sussex University and later communications and journalism at the University of Technology in Sydney, Australia.
She and her husband live in North London with their two lovely teenagers and beloved border terrier.
